I was first referred to this private hospital by the NHS around 5 years ago with groin and mainly hip pain, after X rays and an MRI on my hip the consultant said there was nothing wrong with me, My pain and not being able to walk said otherwise, after some time I managed to get a 2nd opinion, this 2nd opinion stated the following, I had numerous labral tears to the soft tissue due to a severe impingement on the ball of the joint, the consultant who gave me the 2nd opinion said that if this had been left another year I would need the entire hip replacing, please bare in mind I have only just turned 42 years old!, I had the surgery in Feb 2016 and after 9 months rehab I returned to sports and was pain free when I walked, around just over a year later I started to get pain again so I gave up all high impact sports on the joints and went back to visit my GP, his opinion was the same as mine that it was the same issue as before, however I went through all the processes you have to go through to get to the stage of surgery, so over the past year and a half I have been to physio, then acupuncture then I was referred back to the care of Blakelands hospital, they said they would do an MRI on my hip, I received an appointment for inhealth at CMK for the MRI, when I then visited back to blakelands for the results it turns out the MRI was done on my spine not my hip!!!!! the same consultant that forced me to get a 2nd opinion yet again now tells me there is nothing wrong with me as per the MRI on my spine, I pointed out the logical thing of how can you tell there is nothing wrong with my hip from a spine MRI, he then agreed to MRI my hip, I received a letter in the post for an MRI in Kettering, I am not able to get to Kettering, I don't drive and don't have the spare funds to travel, I called Blakelands hospital to inform them of this, the receptionist I spoke to acted like I had just personally inconvenienced her, she informed me that if I wanted an MRI in Milton Keynes it would take longer, I said that was fine as previously stated I was unable to get to Kettering.No appointment has ever come in MK, what did come soon after was a voicemail from blakelands hospital saying that as I could not attend the MRI in Kettering they were discharging me and ending my care, I'm not ashamed to say that this made me cry, the prospect of god knows how many more years of pain before I get this sorted, I called to make a complaint re all the above, I was told that I would get a call back, I waited 3 weeks and no call, so I called again yesterday and was told that I had to put it into writing, I'm used to this place giving conflicting and wrong info now so this was no surprise, after this experience I am sitting back thinking to myself that the NHS was created to care for people and now we have company's like this earning money for rich shareholders, how much money did you bill the NHS every time you saw me, this firm have made money from my misery and then just discarding me when I did not have the funds to travel to another town, I'm disgusted that money and profit is giving a higher regard than another human being, I'm disgusted that the last person I spoke to had no interest in helping me and showed a complete lack of empathy for my situation. you wanted my complaint in writing well here it is. meanwhile I now have the prospect of daily chronic pain for at least a min of another year before I get to see a surgeon again................UPDATE......on the 07/01/19 Blakelands hospital wrote to me after reading my review above, the letter advised me if I want to complain I must do it in writing, so lets get this straight someone spent time writing to me to advise of that, those man hours could have been used to maybe deal with my complaint, you know maybe take ownership!!!!! WOW!!!
Awful, reception staff are painfully slow, my procedure is 45 mins late with no reasons only as i can see is unorganized staff

Had a Gastroscopy and Colonoscopy last Thursday afternoon, the consultant and nurses put me at my ease and made a horrid experience easier to bare. thank you very much
