Good breakfast. Ok rooms. Parking is painful. Doesn't hurt the pocket much.

5 stars for customer service, 3 for the room. I was upgraded to a suite (very nice!), however as with many hotels, it's often best not to look too closely at things. The carpet in the hallway has a great big hole in it, the heated towel rail's been disconnected with a wire cutter, the trouser press has been visited by Allan Partridge and doesn't work, the blinds on the door to the balcony are broken... I could go on, but it's just a host of minor things and evidence of patching up here and there over the last 2 decades years that make the place feel a little tired and in need of some love.Tldr; For the 63 I paid, the room was smashing, but if I'd paid full price I'd have been pretty annoyed! I'll probably stay here again.

The lobby has been beautifully renovated and is warm and welcoming but the rooms haven't been touched for a long time and it shows! The hall carpets are threadbare with large gaps, the room heating was not working and the bathrooms were a throwback to the 90's.

I was served by Martina in the restaurant yesterday evening & she gave an exceptional service with an even better smile!! She was extremely helpful & didnt get annoyed or mind going backwards & fowards when I was asking for things. She was very friendly, funny & made me feel welcome. I couldnt have asked for a better service, she deserves a raise!!
