Worst Car rental experience!!!!! I reserved and paid for my rental online. I went to Arnold Clark, Milton Keynes, 43 winchester cir, on 4 Feb and was treated with the worst service that lacked any professionalism.I am American, Active Duty Military assigned with the RAF. I have lived in this country for 3 years and while I am military I own and operate my personal vehicle with a US/UK forces drivers license. The form serves as my proof to drive. To show proof to police I provide the form that has an expiration date along with my active duty military ID card. I produced this and then was interrogated on the validity of the form. The staff did nothing of any research. They made statements and asked ridiculous questions geared toward questioning if I am really military or pretending. One question was how long have I been in the military because I did not "look" military. An older coworker said she had an old military friend and that this is not any form she had ever seen. Based on that they have to decline to rent to me.They asked me if I lived in the country and I replied yes. They asked me to produce proof of where I live. I provided proof. I asked how does a person who does not live in this country get to rent a vehicle? They replied they have to produce their driver's license from where they are from. I said as I am stationed in this country my uk/us forces license is issued from this country. I would not produce a USA state drivers license as I am not a tourist and am not required to carry.This all occurred starting at 1630 hrs when I was scheduled to pick up the vehicle. By 1645 the staff started packing up the office to close BEFORE 1700 closing time.Overall the staff from this business and location displayed an inability to do research on something that was not hard but required a little brain power. It was not something out of the norm however was very much a reality. None of the staff involved deserves any type of recognition for going "above and beyond" in your company. They set the standard of poor customer service/bias to anyone not from the UK. Rather than search for solutions they put up roadblocks. They wanted to leave work and nothing else. The older woman who brought her comments on her experience with her friend who is military and has never seen a license like mine should not have a position in the company. My expectation is to be shown why I am being refused a vehicle/where does it say my UK issued US Forces license to operate a vehicle is not acceptable rather than people just say "well ive never seen that" and say no.If I do not receive my refund by Friday I am taking legal action.

What can I say staff are great, very easy hire process and prices amazingly good, van well looked after too, got around 70mpg def will use them again..
I bought my first car today from this store and I was totally impressed by their service. The staff members were very friendly, professional and patient. I would recommend this dealer to anyone who wants to buy a vehicle.
We were very happy with our rental from Arnold Clark. Every dealing with staff was better than expected. I am 24 and was expecting a heavy extra charge for being under 25. For our length of stay this would have been over 250 with other rental agencies (Which would basically double the price) We were not charged this. When we initially checked the car over, it was noted that we checked in the rain and scratches etc are harder to spot. The car was perfect and a larger size than we initially paid for. Picking up the car was quick and hassle free.When the car was returned, there were no hassles and our fuel deposit was returned quickly and hassle free. We were then immediately dropped off at the train station we were departing from. The member of staff that dropped us off was extremely friendly and gave very good recommendations to get where we needed to go.With so many rental car agencies up to tricks with way over priced repairs and not fully disclosing costs, I could not have imagined a better service. (Which is why I'm taking the time to write the review)A perfect service. Thank you
