Part time ticket office. Had to ring the main enquiry office to find out when they are open (6.15 - 11am) this was after two wasted journeys to collect tickets. This information should be on the website
No knowledgeable staff to offer assistance, the chap loitering in the car park in a high viz was a staff member but admitted he was new and didnt know what train I needed, perhaps that's why he dissapears altogether when a train approaches the station because he can't help.
ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE STATION!!!!Not disabled friendly at all!Not only is there a half a meter drop from the train ledge to the platform, when you do jump, or absail down from the train you have no choice except climb the steep and tall stairs to the footbridge and climb down again to get to the exit. There is no lift, no disabled access to the other platforms (other than #4) and barely any staff to ask "HOW THE HELL DO I GET ACROSS THE TRACKS!"
The station building has very limited opening hours and seems to close around mid day, but when it is open there is a little shop in side to buy coffee and a selection of treats. There is a ticket machine outside to buy tickets but this is often out of service. Go to the toilet before going to this station!There is a medium size car park that is pay for parking, there are also waiting and drop off bays. There are bike racks to lock a bike to, but these are often busy. The platform can be quite cold, but there are a few shelters to hide from the wind. The step on to and off the train is a lot higher compared to other stations, so be careful.
A modern railway station on the scenic West Coast Main Line. It would be great if they reopened the branch to Newport Pagnall.
