This experience turned out to be very horrendous. I had booked a birthday bowling session for my granddaughter and 2 friends. No drinks or food, or even balloons were brought to the lane we were at. I even tried the call button, on the display screen of the lane we were on, to no avail. I approached staff, who said they would look into it, also to no avail. Once they had finished bowling, i managed to find someone who brought a jug of juice and a load of plastic cups to a table, saying she would be back shortly, with another jug. Still no balloons or food. I then asked to speak to the manager, who blamed this all on a lack if staff.So, to sum it all up. If staff members phone in sick, short change the customers, or even ruin a planned birthday party surprise. I ended up taking them to McdonaldsWell done Hollywood Bowl, Milton Keynes
Good atmosphere and really friendly staff. Was asked whether me or my partner wanted any drinks whilst setting up which was a lovely touch. Reason for 1 star off, the selection of balls to use were few and far between and finding the right weight/size required a lot of hunting around.
Bowling was great (with the exception of my score!) the staff I interacted with were diabolical and if they do not wish to be in customer facing rolls, find a job elsewhere, our first interaction was not being able to get on the lane when we booked, with no reason why, when lanes were free, arrived early but had to wait an additional 20 minutes.Tried to use one of the arcade machines to soak up the time and the money got stuck in the slot, asked at the bar for help, told they couldnt help and to go to reception, waited in a queue and a young lady came to assist, finally fixed the issue but now one of my sons had played but the other couldnt, the aim was for them to play together, when asked if anything could be done I was glared at like some crazy fool for asking such a stupid question, five more minutes passed and finally they got to play together.If this place could employ some customer focused staff with a can do attitude wed become regulars.
Prices are about standard at 8.09 per person per game - not too expensive but not really cheap either. We went as a group of 8 on a Friday evening at about 9:00, and had not pre-booked a lane so we had a short wait of around 20 minutes for a spare one. Other than having to cycle the pins a couple of times during the game when one got stuck down, everything went smoothly - no complaints here!
Recently tried to book with Hollywood Bowl for my Air Cadets Christmas Party. Despite numerous emails and calls to premium rate numbers it took us 5 days to arrange a booking. Upon arranging the booking we discovered that as a result of the late booking we were going to be charged an additional 1 per person. Had our original email been dealt with the additional fees would not have applied. Would not recommend using this company for group bookings.
